Dinner Time Assist
As I strive to eat healthier as well as more frugally, I’ve become interested in ways to make more things from scratch. I invested in a breadmaker that Brooke and I love to use, I make batches of beans in the slow cooker instead of using canned…
But sometimes when I get home from work and things are crazy, I need the convenience of the reliable mix from a box.
So I was excited when I was sent Betty Crocker Loaded Mashed Potatoes by Betty Croker through MyBlogSpark. I’d tried the Sweet Potato variety recently and couldn’t wait to try the Loaded Mashed Potatoes.
We had them last night with our baked Italian chicken and they were really good. You could taste the bits of bacon, chives and cheese. They smelled awesome too. Keith noticed it right away when he walked in and knew there was something good waiting on the table!!

Menu Plan for May 9 – 15
Whew! It’s been awhile!! I wish I could say that I’ve been menu planning and just not sharing on the blog. But I just haven’t been planning and I’ll be honest – it hasn’t been working well. So when I heard the advertisements for E-Mealz* on the Dave Ramsey Show, I thought maybe I’d give it a try and see if it could get me back on track.
I picked out 5 of the 7 dinners listed for the week:
Cheeseburger Sliders
Italian Baked Chicken
Skillet Burritos
Bacon Ranch Toasted Subs
Sausage Roll
The remaining two dinners will be left to chance; either our stand-by grilled cheese/quesadilla night or a night to eat out.
The best part so far I’ve found is that I had many of the ingredients for these meals in my kitchen already. You can’t get much easier or frugal than that!!!
What’s on your menu this week?
